This week I went to a challah baking session with my mum. A challah is a three plaited loaf of bread. However some people do their own version of this. I once watched on the television that Paul Hollywood had made an eight plaited loaf. Another fun way to make it is by doing a tear and share loaf: you would shape about twelve mini rolls with the dough and then connect them together.
Many Jews have a custom to eat challah every Friday night dinner and Saturday lunch.
My challah in the photo is a four plaited loaf covered in egg white and poppy seeds.
