children's menu's

This post isn't about food tasting or restaurant reviews, but about something I do not like about food: CHILDREN'S MENUS!! I do not understand why in cafĂ©'s and restaurants children are given their own menu with food known for children to eat. The  food given to them is processed and not freshly made, not like the food adults are served. However, I do understand that children don't eat as much as adults. So why not let children eat the same food as adults but give them a half portion. This happens at one of my favourites grill restaurants called Sami's. I have experienced other restaurants that give you children's menus and their is quite a big difference. The food in Sami's is much more fresh and it tastes great and is served in a more appetizing way.
